Announced on Wednesday, this new initiative builds on the company’s US$3 billion global AI investment strategy and is backed by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB).
The move comes as Singapore launched its Smart Nation 2.0 initiative in October, a refreshed vision for its decade-long initiative that includes a S$120-million fund for AI adoption in its new phase.
An extension of Accenture’s Center for Advanced AI in Singapore, the hub aims to develop cutting-edge AI solutions and intellectual property while advancing local talent. The hub will offer programs to help businesses and professionals navigate the evolving AI landscape, focusing on foundation model development and responsible AI practices.
The facility is designed as a collaborative space, offering end-to-end generative AI services for research, development, and deployment of custom AI models. These services will target industries such as healthcare, financial services, public sector, energy, and sustainability, with applications ranging from process optimization to new product creation.
Accenture plans to integrate expertise from its global AI network with local research talent to tackle key areas like large language model (LLM) architecture, AI infrastructure, and computational science. Responsible AI will also be a central focus.
“Artificial intelligence and generative AI present an unparalleled opportunity to reinvent businesses for profitability and growth,” said Ramine Tinati, managing director and APAC lead at Accenture’s Center for Advanced AI. “The AI Refinery Engineering Hub will provide pathways for enterprises to make breakthroughs in the application of AI and scale it responsibly.”
Junie Fo, Vice President of Commercial & Professional Services at EDB, highlighted the hub’s role in advancing Singapore’s AI ecosystem. “This platform will enable impactful applied research and partnerships to address global challenges with custom AI solutions,” Fo said.
