Dreaming about Switch 2? Here’s an alarm clock by Nintendo

While the gaming community eagerly anticipates news of a Switch 2, Nintendo has caught everyone off guard with the announcement of Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo.

Priced at US$99.99, Alarmo is an interactive alarm clock designed to bring the charm of Nintendo games into daily routines, launching in early 2025. 

Alarmo integrates motion-sensor technology, allowing users to snooze or stop the alarm with hand gestures or by getting out of bed. It features 35 scenes from popular Nintendo titles like Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 3

Users can wake up to immersive soundscapes and visuals inspired by these games, with characters like Mario, Link, and even Bowser making appearances during the alarm process.

Nintendo also included features such as sleep tracking, hourly chimes, and adjustable alarm modes. The device will receive updates with new scenes from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

US and Canadian paid Nintendo Switch Online members can already purchase it in a limited time presale via the My Nintendo Store.

While the successor of the seven-year-old Nintendo Switch, it is not, this whimsical device is likely to appeal to Nintendo fans who want to start their day in a uniquely interactive way. Those who would rather wait for the Switch 2, expected in early 2025, can just hit snooze.
