Hyundai Motor Group partners with Nvidia to accelerate AI-powered mobility and manufacturing

Hyundai Motor Group is taking its vision for smart mobility to the next level through a strategic partnership with Nvidia.

Announced at CES 2025 in Las Vegas, the collaboration focuses on using AI, digital twins, and advanced simulation technologies to enhance mobility and manufacturing processes.

The partnership will integrate Nvidia’s accelerated computing and AI solutions into Hyundai’s software-defined vehicles, robots, and manufacturing systems. Heung-Soo Kim, executive vice president and head of the global strategy office at Hyundai Motor Group, stated, “This partnership is set to accelerate our progress, positioning the Group as a frontrunner in driving AI-empowered mobility innovation.”

Hyundai will use the Nvidia Omniverse platform to create digital twins—virtual replicas of physical systems—to streamline product design and optimize manufacturing. This digital approach will allow Hyundai to simulate complex systems, reducing costs and speeding up time-to-market for new products.

Through Nvidia OVX systems, Hyundai will build a “digital thread” that connects its existing tools, improving engineering efficiency and enabling precise prototyping. These simulations will also play a critical role in advancing autonomous vehicle (AV) technologies, allowing Hyundai to test self-driving systems in diverse scenarios, from hazardous weather to high-traffic environments.

Hyundai plans to enhance its industrial robots using Nvidia Isaac Sim, a robotics simulation framework built on Omniverse. This tool will enable Hyundai to train and test robots in virtual environments, ensuring they operate safely and effectively in real-world factory settings.

By combining robotics intelligence with Nvidia’s AI tools, Hyundai aims to improve production quality and make robot-human interactions more intuitive and efficient.

With Nvidia’s technology, Hyundai is driving innovation across multiple fronts: developing safer, more intelligent vehicles, optimizing manufacturing processes, and deploying advanced robotics.

The agreement was formalized during a signing ceremony at CES on January 8, marking a new chapter in Hyundai’s journey toward AI-driven transformation.
