The PNP reported that 636 children have been rescued since 2022, including 375 girls and 121 boys, all under 17.
In a report by the Daily Tribune, PNP Chief General Rommel Francisco Marbil emphasized how AI-powered tools have transformed investigations, particularly in cases involving the dark web. “AI is revolutionizing how we solve crimes and rescue victims. It allows us to analyze vast amounts of data, identify suspects with greater accuracy, and respond swiftly to emerging threats,” Marbil stated.
These advanced technologies have enhanced the PNP’s capacity to identify perpetrators quickly, ensuring timely interventions and strengthening the prosecution of offenders.
The PNP has conducted 307 operations under the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children law since 2022, with 145 taking place this year alone.
Marbil reaffirmed the PNP’s commitment to leveraging innovative tools to protect vulnerable children and bring justice to victims of exploitation.
